I have used the QHY183M camera several times (I am still waiting for the filter wheel) and I am impressed. The 2.4 micron 20meg pixels provide a much smaller array than my 10yr Canon 400D with its 10MP 5.7micron pixels, but the pixel density provides a huge increase in resolution and the sensitivity is amazing.
Attached to my 8"SCT f6.3 on my failing mount (I am replacing) limiting only 90 second unguided subs, which still bloated and stretched the stars, I managed to still get an impressive monochrome image of the core of M31 with only 20 usable frames (30min), which my Canon 400D would have required about 4-6 hours of usable images for similar detail.
The FITs images are 38.5 meg which needs to be considered for storage and full frame video of a few hundred frames quickly exceeds GB sizes. The USB 3.0 needs to be ported to its own port because 2 USB 3.0 cameras can quickly exceed the capacity of a multi-port USB 3.0 hub.
This is a great camera
