A Useful Gadget
This is probably one of the least expensive piece of astronomy equipment anyone can purchase. Don't let the price and "novelty" of it fool you; it's actually quite a useful item. I use it for sketching at the eyepiece with the the red LEDs illuminated. The red LEDs are not adjustable in brightness, so may be a bit overwhelming if you're observing with a few other people, or at a star party, but just right for sketching. The white LED is activated by a separate button, and has two brightness levels, which is great for packing up your gear at the end of the night. Both the red and white have "blinking" modes, which is annoying if you accidentally press one of the two buttons in the dark, but just be careful. I would have given the LED headlamp five stars if the red LEDs were adjustable in brightness. Overall, this is a little gadget worth looking into getting. I'm quite pleased with it.
